The Taurasi DOCG "Vigna Piano D'Angelo" is a wine with an intense ruby red color and a broad, fruity aroma, reminiscent of plums and cherries and the fragrances of the hilly undergrowth that characterize the Taurasi area. The vines that produce the grapes grow on sandy, volcanic soil, which lends them robustness and resistance. They are trained using a specific system called spurred cordon, characterized by a "short" pruning method based exclusively on environmental, geographical, and plant characteristics that distinguish the type of plant grown, its location, and the climatic conditions to which it is subjected.

Timings, processing methods and uses
Harvest time is from the first to the last ten days of November and involves approximately 4,000 vines per hectare, achieving a yield of around 5,000 kilograms. After harvesting and pressing, the wine is aged for four months in French barriques and for 18 months in large 500-liter barrels. Once bottled, it ages for two years.
At its best, it has an alcohol content ranging between 13.5 and 14.5% vol. and releases a dry, smooth flavor with a good concentration of elegant tannins and a very long finish that amplifies the grape's primary aromas. It pairs easily with red meats, braised meats, game, and aged cheeses and should be served at 18 degrees.
